Review: Bruce Banner and Hulk Sixth Scale Figure Set by Hot Toys Review and Photography by Mark Picirilli Review Date: April 16, 2014
Shipping this month is the Bruce Banner and Hulk Sixth Scale Figure Set by Hot Toys. This two pack is part of the Movie Masterpiece Series from Hot Toys and distributed by SideshowCollectibles.com. The set retails for $509.99 and as of this posting there are less than 10 remaining, if you want to grab this set, click here and hope they are still there! This is a massive box ( it even has a handle) and weighs in at around 15 pounds! Check out some of the packaged shots below:
As with most Hot Toys figures, the box and package are all collector friendly. Bruce is packed on top of the Hulk and you are able to unpack both of them and all of the accessories without any damage. The breakdown of all items included is below: Likeness of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner in The Avengers and authentic likeness of Hulk in The Avengers
Bruce Banner:
Movie-accurate facial expression featuring his angered gesture with
detailed wrinkles and skin texture with detailed hair sculpture
You also get a diorama base with fallen Chitauri footsoldier and metal-like structural steel - Check out some images of the detailed base below:
Since Bruce is new, let's start with him. The head is sculpted by Kojun and painted by JC. Hong and it's dead on. Anyone who even glances at this for a second will see Mark Ruffalo. Hot Toys is known for amazing details, and this is no exception. It is perfect!
He comes in his brown blazer, pants and shoes but you can easily take off the jacket to re-create scenes from the movie (Hot Toys even included some extra buttons for the shirt in case you go a little Hulk crazy)
What time is it?
The Chitauri scepter fits nicely in the custom right hand made to hold it, and his iconic glasses are also included (they take a few seconds to get on, but there are slots on either side of the sideburns for them to fit in)
Hulk is AMAZING, he is the same one that was released earlier and I reviewed for one of my other sites back in August, you can see that full video review below or at this link
Hulk stands approximately 17" tall and has a head sculpt with separate rolling eyeballs with both relaxed palms and "smash" fists and his signature ragged grey shorts. What I love most about him is the relaxed hands that allow you to actually mold his hands around just about anything!
Bruce could not resist playing with the separate rolling eyeballs system!
This set is a MUST OWN for any Hot Toys or Avengers Collector - I had so much fun with this review, check out some goofy shots I just had to include below and if you want to grab this set, click here and hope they are still there!
